Six members of our West End team were on hand this morning for the official opening of the new Piccadilly 2-Way traffic scheme in central London.

Girl supergroup ‘The Saturdays’ performed the official switch-on outside M&S Marble Arch just after 6pm.

We get all sorts of people stopping by our Victoria kiosk, but it’s not everyday that a trio of Superheroes ask us for directions.
On this occasion it was our very own Wonder Woman Natasha who was able to save the world (apparently Batman’s car had been clamped and they were looking for a bus to Gotham City).
Not in the photo was Superman – he was using our kiosk to change in.

Tom, Tanya, Natasha, Barry and Barbara look forward to helping you find your way around. They are based at our kiosk right in front of the mainline railway station, and also patrol all the main streets in the area.

Antonio and Ian (above) will be joined by David later in the month, and have already made quite an impact since starting with us last Friday.
Antonio is the only person we know who speaks Japanese with an Italian accent! (He also speaks pretty good French too).

We’re delighted to tell you that Victoria BID has asked us to run their Ambassador service from this September.
Victoria BID covers the area around Victoria station, Cardinal Place and Victoria Street, plus parts of Pimlico and Belgravia.
It’s a great place to be and we’re very excited about working with Ruth, Scott and the team in SW1.

Glad you’ve stopped by – we’ve had some great news today!
New West End Company (the Business Improvement District (BID) for London’s West End) has asked The Welcome People to provide its Red Caps service from September 2011.
The Red Caps provide a visitor welcome and street management service in Oxford Street and Regent Street, and have been an important part of the BID offer since it began in 2005.
They’re a great bunch of people and we’re really looking forward to working with them. Watch this space for further developments.
