The Welcome People short-listed for VisitEngland Award
2016 has got off to a fantastic start with news that, for the second year running, The Welcome People have reached the final of the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.
The VisitEngland Awards for Excellence are firmly established as representing the highest accolade in English tourism and we’re over the moon to have reached the final again, in the category of Tourist Information Provider of the Year.
The Awards Ceremony is the climax of the whole VisitEngland Awards for Excellence competition. This evening, built entirely around the finalists, will take for the first time during English Tourism Week.
By making it to the Ceremony all finalists will have demonstrated that they are the very best of English Tourism. The Ceremony celebrates success and excellence and is a showcase for England's fabulous tourism products. Above all it provides finalists with a moment of well deserved glory which can be used to market, promote and improve their businesses still further.

- Eastbourne Tourist Information Centre
- Gloucester Tourist Information Centre
- Thanet Visitor Information Service
This year’s final takes place in Blackpool on the 8th March. Keep your finger’s crossed and wish us luck!
